This allows me to have multiple folders open at the same time. In addition, when I open a folder to display the contents in the main panel, and then open subsequent folders, the folders are opened in new tabs. I prefer the folder navigation in Navigator-I like the ability to expand folders in the left frame to find the folder what you want.* In Navigator you have the ability to edit a file in the IFS with ACS you have the ability to view a file.Neither interface will let you upload a folder of files. In Navigator, you can upload a maximum of five files at a time, but you have to specify each one. In either interface, uploading files is a bit of a pain. Both interfaces handle downloading a folder and its contents the same way. Downloading multiple files with Navigator puts all the files in a single folder within your downloads folder, whereas with ACS you get separate files in your downloads folder.ACS has the ability drag and drop, which Navigator doesn’t support. The major advantage ACS provides is the ability to easily send files between IBM i partitions with Navigator, you can only upload to or download files from your PC.There are differences between the capabilities which interface you use will depend upon what you want to accomplish. ACS added support to work with the IFS back in October 2016. You can access the Integrated File System (IFS) using either the Navigator for i web console orĪccess Client Solutions (ACS).
